The Columbus Public Library offers community members a variety of ways to get involved.
The Friends of the Columbus Public Library's mission is to increase community involvement with the library, act as advocates for the library, provide additional programming, and promote the use of the library and its resources. Read more.
The Foundation assists people by providing the link between a donor and the library. Learn more about becoming a board member or donor here.
The Library has ongoing and unique opportunities for volunteer work. If you are interested in volunteering please complete a volunteer application at the library or submit this online form. Library personnel will contact you to discuss needs and availability.
Adopt an area of shelving in the library to "shelf read," ensuring books are shelved in the correct order.
During the Summer Reading Program, help with the supervision of activities, distribute prizes in the evenings and/or weekends, or be a guest reader during Story Time. Work with the Children's Librarian to locate reading materials or substitute for the Children's Librarian during Story Time.
The Library is also open to working with organizations who use supervised employment as part of their mission.
