Notice to Those Concerned with Columbus Cemetery and Roselawn Cemetery

In the interest of keeping Roselawn and Columbus Cemeteries looking their very best through the Memorial Day Holiday Season, reusable wreaths and floral displays not in permanent vases should be removed from the graves prior to Monday, June 6, 2022.

Beginning that day, cemetery staff will start mowing and trimming the cemetery grounds. Cut flowers will be removed during that week as they become wilted and no longer add to the appearance of the cemeteries.

Charlie W. Louis Fire Station Project

Yesterday, 19 May 2022, the City of Columbus and the Columbus Fire Department turned over the Charlie W. Louis Station located at 424 8th Street, to BD Construction for them to begin the renovation and addition project.

16th Street and 24th Avenue Intersection Temporary Closure

The Kramer Education Center site work contractor has informed the city of a temporary lane closure scheduled to start on Monday, May 16th, for utility and pavement reconstruction.

The westbound (north) lane of 16th Street, at the intersection of 24th Avenue, will be closed for approximately three weeks.  One lane of traffic on the south lane of 16th Street will be maintained throughout the work.
